Studio Gallery Retail
This is a space where art can live and breathe. Acting as an artist studio, gallery, and retail space all in one, this is a unique opportunity for the general public to interact with art in all stages of its creation.

Art On Display
June 25t- July 18th 2024
To celebrate the opening of this art space, three diverse series of works will be on display. The first, A Kiss For Freedom, features pieces from Lajah's collection over the past three years, highlighting her exploration of identity and culture through examining the concept decolonial love. Ancestral Glitch, her latest body of work, offers a perspective on her artistic evolution through exploring ancestral connections in a playful way. Finally, the Solidarity collection includes pieces that will be permanently displayed throughout the Royal Oak Shopping Centre, connecting her artistic journey to the present. By bringing these three series together, the art displayed offers a comprehensive insight into Lajah's artistic journey, ensuring that each visitor finds something to engage with.
This gallery is designed for collaboration. Through the conversation corner/seating area, a collective art piece, reflective journal booklets for sale, and the live studio space, this gallery is designed to create a safe space for dialogue and cross-cultural connections.
A Kiss for Freedom
“Kisses for Freedom” opens us up to the diverse ways that decolonial love can look, as well as the hidden parts of it that often go unnoticed. This series of artworks is the manifestation of the artist’s experiences over the last four years as she explored all the elements of her life through the lens of decolonial love. In this collection, we are encouraged to deconstruct and reimagine the ways that our relationships, identities, and communities function. Each artwork in this collection invites the audience to transform love for themselves and recognize it as a tool for liberation.
Ancestral Glitch
Imagine a glitch where this world and the spiritual world are undivided. This series invites us to envision this glitch and to see into worlds where our ancestors may be walking alongside us. It encourages us to imagine a reality where the boundaries between the physical and spiritual realms are blurred, and we can connect more deeply with the wisdom of our ancestors.
Public Space Exhibition:
Royal Oak Shopping Centre
Art is meant to be free, breathing, and apart of our every day lives. As an artist, I have been heartbroken by the gatekeeping and control that goes into the art sector- especially when it comes to Indigenous art. In collaboration with Haunsbraun Investments, the Royal Oak Shopping Centre is now filled with artwork to inspire and reflect on. As you walk through the space, I encourage you to look for my artwork and be a witness to the art’s stories.
